List of things I did today:
1. Worked on 9th grade curriculum guide.
2. Looked up lexile levels for all text- working to increase text complexity per Common Core Curriculum.
3.Selected novel that my 9th graders will be reading- “Kite Runner” and “Animal Farm”.
4.Found the Text complexity rubric to choose the most appropriate text

I spent 2 hours planning.

I’m entering my 14th year of teaching, and I’m going to try to keep a journal of my activities and thoughts.

Thousands of Teacher and School Staff Jobs Have Been Eliminated Under Gov. Walker

wisconsinforward:

According to newly-released data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, 2,312 full-time school staff positions were eliminated during the 2011-2012 school year.  For teachers in particular, 1,446 positions were cut.

According to Scott Walker’s spokesman, Cullen Werwie, this offers “proof that Governor Walker’s reforms are working.”

Someone needs to explain to me the code, “The Gov’s reforms are working.”
